The truck has had a lot of work done on it with only a cab replacement left to do. Once that is addressed it will be a solid truck. The price of all equipment, trucks included, has been very high the past few years. Ultimately we were better off fixing this old (c. 1981) truck rather than buying another used one and spending money on rebuilding/repairing that.
The box will hold 800 bushels (by volume) and we can legally haul 39,000 lbs (or 27,700 kg) of grain and still be under the total weight limit (61,600 lbs or 28,000 kg) that the state license plate allows for this type of truck.
Floating the gears takes some practice, downshifting is a bit of a challenge.
