Outline of the Lecture:
• Formation of velocity and thermal boundary layer inside a duct
• Constant and parabolic velocity profiles are compared for low and high Prandtl number fluid inside thermal boundary layer, respectively
• Use of control volume approach is demonstrated for obtaining bulk or mean temperature of fluid
• Utilization of bulk temperature to calculate balance of energy showing negligible axial conduction at large Peclet number
