Is a VNA a data lake?

In this video, I describe a data lake (using Amazon's definition of a data lake), then demonstrate how any VNA could function as a data lake by adding a data catalogue.

In the demonstration, I used:
1. A VNA which supports:
i. DICOMWeb (WADO-RS),
ii. Instance Availability Notification (IAN - this is a DICOM N-CREATE that sends a notification whenever instances are added to the VNA), and
iii. IOCM (this sends DICOM KOS objects that notify of instances that have been deleted).
2. Offis DCMTK:
i. storescu (to send DICOM images to my VNA)
ii. storescp (to recieve IAN/IOCM from my VNA)
3. PowerShell - some light scripting to tie all this together
4. CouchDB to act as the "Data Catalogue"
