Early Days:
In the early days of the church, in the absence of a church building or a common place, members of the community opened up their homes to one another to fellowship together and to celebrate important events together. Even as this practice continued, the idea of having regular weekly fellowship began to take shape and members started actively working towards it. Things slowly but surely fell in place and on the 26th of October, 1969, the first official worship service was held at the residence of Mr A. Sibo of Chingmeirong East, and thus was born the ‘Mao Worship Service’. Mr K Nipuni was the leader and Mr H. Chamaikho the speaker at the first service. From then on, regular weekly fellowships were held in Maola. The congregation then consisted of both Mao and Poumei, and they fellowshipped together till the 2nd of August, 1980.
