西武新宿線

花小金井駅を出発後に録画ボタンの押し忘れに気がついたため、中途半端な場所からスタートします。

西武新宿線について
1952年開通。ルートは、新宿→高田馬場→小平→東村山→所沢→川越。
小平までは西へ進み、小平からは北に進みます。小平では拝島線、東村山では西武園線と国分寺線、
所沢では池袋線に乗り換えができます。
　乗務員交代は、上石神井駅、小平駅、新所沢駅です。小平駅では国分寺線の乗務員が東村山駅まで車両に同乗することが多い印象です。なお、西武鉄道では勤務時間を通じて、運転士と車掌のペア(バディ)は同じです。運転士も車掌も男女いますが、太いあごひもをかけているのが運転士です。女性運転士の割合は体感でJRに比べて相当少ないです。

西武新宿駅について
　JR新宿駅東口から北に徒歩で6分くらいのところにあります。JR新宿駅に掲示してある案内板は「東口の外」を意味していてよくわかりませんでした。
全て地下道でいく遠回りの道もありますが、山手線で高田馬場駅にて乗車する方が便利です。

Seibu Shinjuku Line

We start at the halfway point because we realized we forgot to press the record button after leaving Hanakoganei Station.

About Seibu Shinjuku Line
Opened in 1952. The route is Shinjuku→Takadanobaba→Kodaira→Higashimurayama→Tokorozawa→Kawagoe.
The line goes west until Kodaira, and from Kodaira it goes north. At Kodaira, take the Haijima Line; at Higashimurayama, take the Seibuen Line and Kokubunji Line,
At Tokorozawa, you can change to the Ikebukuro Line.
　Crew changes are at Kamishakujii, Kodaira, and Shin-Tokorozawa stations. At Kodaira Station, I have the impression that crew members of the Kokubunji Line often ride together on the cars until Higashimurayama Station. At Seibu Railway, drivers and conductors are paired (buddied) the same throughout their working hours. Both drivers and conductors are male and female, but the driver is the one wearing a thick chinstrap. The percentage of female drivers is much smaller than in JR.

About Seibu Shinjuku Station
　Seibu Shinjuku Station is about a 6-minute walk north from the East Exit of JR Shinjuku Station, and the information board posted at JR Shinjuku Station means "outside the East Exit," which was not clear.
There is a long way to go by underground, but it is more convenient to take the Yamanote Line to Takadanobaba Station.
