A cab ride along the Trent Valley route from Tamworth to Crewe via Stafford. The train is diverted along the Slow Lines between Milford Junction and Stafford North Junction. The loco today is 5000 hp, 110 mph, 25,000V AC electric 87033 Thane of Fife. Since this film was made the line between Tamworth and Armitage has been upgraded to four tracks at 125 mph. The line speed in 2001 was 110 mph.
The signalboxes at Tamworth, Hademore, Lichfield, Colwich, Norton Bridge, Madeley and Betley Road have all now been demolished and this area is now mostly controlled by Stoke Signalling Control Centre.
