Ringing at the two Cotswold Bourtons, near Stow on the Wold, on 24/5/14; both with churches dedicated to St Lawrence!

Bourton on the Water: A pleasant Taylor 8 of 1957, although on closer listening there are some weird tuning idiosyncratics, especially round the trebles, and ropes are springy and way too low on the wheel! Ringing is an excerpt from an unsuccessful quarter peal attempt of Stedman Triples. Beautiful church in a picturesque Cotswold village and well worth a visit!

Bourton on the Hill: A good sounding but heinously oddstruck 6 in a village a fair way from Bourton on the Water! A mixed bag of founders, the bells were rehung by Whites in 1974 but don't go especially well. Sanky grab for the laughs, a hideous bell!!
