In this video I restore the wood trim on that runs from the left corner to the middle of the dash on our 300SD. This is the longest and most complicated piece on the car and it was broken in half! Over the years the wood veneer trim on these cars starts to delaminate. It can be repaired with patience.

This piece of trim is held one by the following:
1) Three threaded shafts - One on the corner behind the AC vent and two on either side of the
steering column.
2) Three small screws above the central AC vents.
3) a large 24 mm nut holding the the headlight switch

Materials:
Sandpaper: 220, 600, 1500
Minwax polyurethane
Minwax Red Mahogany stain (I used Early American on the other trim pieces in the car but
I discovered that it did not darken bare spots as well.
Micro fiber cloths
JB Weld
String
Rubber bands
Clamps
