We take a drive on Harpers Corner Road in Dinosaur National Monument. This 31 mile out-and-back road takes us deep into the backcountry of the monument. Most of the road winds through hills of sagebrush and other high desert vegetation. There are a number of viewpoints along the road that offer great views of the canyons and valleys below, and we stop at most of these viewpoints. Once we reach the end of the road, we retrace our route back out of the monument.

You may notice that there appears to be something unusual on the road in many parts of this video. That is because we were there during an infestation of crickets in the summer of 2024. Literally millions of Mormon Crickets were invading the park. They would venture onto the road, where they would get run over. More crickets would come onto the road to feed on the dead. In turn, they would get run over. You get the picture. That is why the road looks unusual parts of the video.
