From the Collection of the NFSA. A 1953 colour documentary with commentary showing Toowoomba's Carnival of Flowers. Shows the main streets of the city and civic buildings including City Hall, the Post Office, Court House and Technical College. Also many beautiful private and public gardens, the Mator and local member of parliament Jack Duggan, horseracing at Clifford Park racecourse, lawn bowls, laying wreaths at the war memorial, the carnival procession and the crowning of the Floral Queen. Concludes with shots of Cooby Creek Dam, the Lockyer Valley and the Darling Downs.
