Honda CBX Cylinder Repair - Welding Broken Cooling Fins! Progress is being made on the CBX restoration as I have the cylinder back from the machine shop after getting an overbore to fit .5mm oversized pistons. Cylinder 6 was the worst of them which determined the .5mm overbore to clean up the rust you saw in the last episode. I got very lucky here that I was able to avoid putting in a new sleeve on number 6.

The cooling fins were next to address as there were 5 damaged areas caused from the previous owner. I fire up the TIG welder and fill the broken areas with pure filler rod for a strong quality repair. Afterwards I shape, file, and sand the fins to a factory appearance so it will look like nothing ever happened!
