The word that describes this week's progress is "non-linear"... Main takeaways from this run-thru:
1. My musical memory seems to be solid enough that I'm able to not lose my way despite microblips of forgetfulness.

2. During my piano lesson last weekend, we worked through some changes in technique for the Presto portions and revised fingering for the Coda. These changes will definitely help me play more securely and with less tension as I move forward with this piece. But at the moment, I haven't fully digested them yet, and the differing articulations and phrasing in the left and right hands are not confidently independent of each other yet. It's also clear when I'm playing in context (vs practicing in chunks) that I need to slow down to incorporate the new coda fingerings smoothly.

3. I'm still unsure what tempo I want to play the Presto sections at relative to the Andantino sections. As fast as possible while still being in control - but I don't know what that tempo is yet. Which relates to the next point...

4. My sense of time gets so lost when I play this piece. I really have to look back at the recordings to see how much time actually passed - it's really hard for me to guess. Did I play this in 9 minutes? 10 minutes? 7.5 minutes? Usually when I make a lot of mistakes, I'll look at the recording and see that it was way shorter than I would have guessed - a sign that I was nervous and rushing. Always good to be aware of this so I can try to set myself up at a tempo for success when actually performing...
