I decided to chest-cam a little walking tour on my way from our new apartment to a mirror shop a couple km away. It was really early, before most places open, so don't get the idea Denizli is always this deserted hehe. On a warm day, the streets are packed with people shopping, socializing, hopping on and off busses, or just going out for an ice-cream cone.

Lise caddesi, Ataturk caddesi, İstiklal caddesi, & Gazi Mustafa Kemal Blvd. all meet at Çınar and you'll see how close we are to there. Our Hotel (Royal Suit) is just up Ataturk cd. so after 3 weeks there, we already knew the neighborhood really!

This video was originally to be private for my parents to watch but what the heck, why not share?!
We are happy to have become part time residents of Denizli and have been warmly welcomed by everyone that discovers this. Denizli is a lovely city (pop.700k) directly north of Fethiye by a 3 hour bus ride.

There is paragliding in multiple spots within city bus distance (Teleferik, University, & Pamukkale, yes, it's about 55 cents CAD to ride anywhere!) and a few more further out requiring a vehicle. Of course Ölüdeniz, a paragliding mecca is close enough you could bus there, fly twice down to the beach and bus back in a single day!
That's my reason for wanting to be here, also the real estate prices are still very reasonable, about 1/6th of what they are in Fethiye, but look to go up soon!
Gena's reason is to immerse herself in the culture and language, relax with everything at hand, plus live "la petit vie" with new friends in a more gentle climate. With the amount of time we have been here we are starting to get to know people. They are very interested in us exotic Canadians.
We were told that we are possibly the first Canadians to buy a property in Denizli. This might be true as you'll see the hurdles we went through and the outstanding performance of our lawyer, Fersu, to make it all work out in our official Denizli video coming up.

BTW: Our apartment is a bit bare bones as of now so I will wait until we return for the grand tour ;)

Enjoy!!
