Sunday Group1 footage from an action packed IRDC 'Tribute to the Volunteers' race at Pacific Raceways, PRO3 car #121
Qualifying was times were tight with only 3/10s of a second separating the 7 cars from P2-P8. My qualifying lap had me starting 4th, but I was unable to match that pace in the race. I got a good start and ran in 3rd for a bit with a pack of 6 cars hot on my tail, #24 Jeff McAffer finally gets around me as I target fixated on #10 Coley Tipton going off in T5. A full course caution, followed by a black flag all, necessitated a single file restart. I got a nice jump and the three previously lapped PRO3 cars who now found themselves at the front of a revved-up field created some exciting 2 and 3 wide action for much of the first lap. I tried to chase down #7 Shaun Northrop but got 944'd, made a few mistakes then had to fend off #244 Corey Peters for a door to door finish for 5th place. This race had a bit of everything and I was thankful to have survived all the chaos!
Bummed my rear camera died on pre-grid because there was a great battle going on behind me. I had a car on my rear in almost every corner; I think I was bumped in 3a by just about everyone who eventually got around me.
