π DESTINATION: Junee NSW, in Junee Shire Council area.
π WHERE: Junee is in the Riverina area of NSW, located about 25 minutes drive from Wagga Wagga and about five hours drive from Sydney. π The main south line between Sydney and Melbourne runs through Junee, as does the Olympic Highway.
ββ WHY: From the moment I noticed the remarkable collection of old pubs around the impressive historic Junee Rrailway Station, I always said I'd go back one day and have a proper look. Add to that the promise of a treat or two at Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory and the prospect of a walk through the thoroughly haunted Monte Cristo Homestead, why wouldn't you visit.
π WHEN: We spent a day and a night in Junee, in autumn, when the weather was mild (but a bit rainy).
π₯π« WHERE WE ATE: Apart from a very delicious Reuben sandwich and a treat or two at the Chocoloate factory, We also had an evening meal at Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club . Good solid club food at reasonable prices.
π WHERE WE STAYED: We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Junee Motor Inn . The friendly hosts sere very helpful with directions around town. Clean, comfy and quiet. Walking distance to most things.
π DONT MISS: Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum
