[Episode 8] 1,380 Miles to the Tail of the Dragon & Nantahala in North Carolina - Across the USA - A Motorcycle Journey, The Four Corners

A destination was put into the GPS. The “land of the noon day sun,” the Nantahala Forest in North Carolina. I was targeting 3 full days to get there. A big push of almost 1,400 miles to Deals Gap, the Tail of the Dragon, and the Moonshiner! Awesome roads, lakes, and the forest awaited me across the USA.

The Four Corners Monument Navajo Tribal Park was the “pin” on the map from where I would plan all other potential routes. I needed to put a “pin” on the map and designate a point that would pull me forward. Something that would be a beacon and a guidepost to a place. It would be the gravity that would pull me over 2,200 miles from home in Florida. It would be the longest “walk” to the corner I had ever taken. Four places in one, four states at one GPS coordinate (New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, & Utah), and a moment to anticipate. 19 days and 5,400 miles, a motorcycle adventure to remember.
