The South African Police Service has offered its condolences to the family of top detective Piet Byleveld. The former police investigator, died in Roodeport, west of Johannesburg. Byleveld was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2017. He was admitted to the Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital with severe breathing difficulties.
