Part three of seven. Last full day in Japan I was hoping to land a maruta in full spawning glory but could not get any to take my fly. I saw a few and even managed a few decent drifts to them but none where willing to oblige. Heavy winds made it nearly impossible to spot them. After moving up river I switched to caro after seeing a pod of the taking on the surface. Undergunned with a soft four weight I attempted to land one to no avail. Lost four in total before I ran out of time as I had errands to run before my evening suzuki fishing.
