This is the last Sabbath of the outgoing year 5783, and the two Torah portions of Nitzavim and Vayelech are read together. As the great day of Rosh Hashana approaches, time of Divine reckoning and time of man’s judgement, we stand poised and ready to pass into a new reality….for a new year means that a new light will be coming into the world. Will we be ready to receive it? The profound concepts expressed in these portions help us to prepare for this new light.

The two Torah portions of Nitzavim (Deut. 29:9 - 30:20) and Vayelech (Deut. 31:1 - 31:30) are read on Shabbat, Elul 23, 5783 - September 9, 2023
