Join Chronically Jenni and special guest Disability With Bailey to chat all things Access to Work. They compare the application process and support you get as someone who is employed vs someone who is self-employed .
Access to work is a government grant for working disabled and/or chronically ill people that nobody tells you about. It's there to help disabled people or those with chronic health conditions get or stay in paid work and gives you support whilst at work. I applied last summer and it's made such a difference to my working life whilst Bailey applied earlier this year before starting a new job so we wanted to share our experiences and compare the process when you are employed vs self-employed. We also try and bust some common myths & misconceptions surrounding Access to work help by both disabled people and their potential employers. If you have any further questions please drop them in the comments and we'll do my best to answer!
