This trip changed my perspective on NYC.

I always thought I hated New York… at least until this time around. I spent five days intentionally exploring Manhattan, SoHo, Harlem and Brooklyn. I went to visit Columbia University as a potential grad school option so this trip was designed to see what it would be like living in the city as a theater kid. The city did not disappoint. I woukd 100% move to Manhattan in my 30s.

A few key takeaways:

1.) A regular Chopped Cheese is better than the Ocky Way.
2.) Harlem is a food and culture Mecca.
3.) The city’s architecture and design is worth the flight.
4.) There’s enough army soldiers and police in the subway for a war
5.) There’s never a dull moment in New York
