The Uru is a species of bird found in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, and formerly in Uruguay. Its population is believed to be decreasing, but at a moderate rate, so the International Union for Conservation of Nature has rated it a "species of least concern. Also called uru-capoeira, capoeira, corcovado, uru-do-nordeste, piruinha or or partridge-uru. It can measure up to 24 centimeters in length. It is top-tailed, with brown upper parts with dark streaks, red periophthalmic region and gray underparts.
