I did take a drive through video of the Cottonwood campground for you. It rained for two days there and we would have had issues with just solar power alone anyway. I could always bring out the generator for a period before dark to recharge the batteries of course.

There are many hiking trails throughout the park. Some very long, some short as well. I think you'll enjoy this location a great deal. Medora Campground gets the thumbs down, but the National Park is a big Thumbs up. :)

Since it is further south, it is a popular place. So get there early, Cottonwood Campground, if you want to get a spot. You may even try calling ahead to see if you can get an idea of how full they are.

Entrance is inside the city of Medora. Take the interstate exits to the Medora city center.
GPS: 46.914614, -103.528006

Cell service with Visible and Verizon: 1 to 2 bars at Medora Campground. You may get no cell service at all inside the park.

If you must, Medora Campground will do. It is a very busy park, even early on in the season when we were there, but certainly no where near booked. Call ahead if in doubt.
