◆Clean World Movement in Rio Branco, Brazil: Responding to Climate Change and Achieving UN SDGs - [ Environmental Protection, Save Earth ]◆

In June, the Clean WORLD Movement to respond climate change was held in Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil.

It was more meaningful as the event went along with the UN SDGs and was participated by men and women of all ages.

Thirty-three people including the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation members and the residents participated in the cleanup in Aviario, Rio Branco.

They swept trash in the street corners with brooms and cleaned up garbage accumulated in the sewage.

Passersby paid attention to the cleanup and the media such as TV5 Acre reported it with interest.

The response from the local government was more favorable.

The municipal government supported the event with garbage bags and necessary items.
It expressed its appreciation to the WeLoveU for working voluntarily to improve the local environment and raising environmental awareness.

On the same day, 110 people carried out Clean WORLD Movement at Fuandacao ABC in Santo Andre.

The City of Santo Andre also offered gloves and cleaning tools, and the deputy mayor encouraged volunteers with his presence.

◆브라질 히우브랑쿠 클린월드운동, 기후변화 대응과 UN SDGs 이행 지원 - [ 환경보전, Save Earth ]◆

6월 10일, 기후변화 대응을 위한 전 세계 클린월드운동이 브라질 아크리주 히우브랑쿠에서 펼쳐졌다.

이번 활동은 유엔 지속가능발전목표(UN SDGs) 이행과 접목되어 남녀노소 시민들이 직접 참여했다는 점에서 그 의미가 더욱 컸다.

히우브랑쿠 아비아리우 일대에서 전개된 정화활동에서 (재)국제위러브유 회원과 주민 등 33명이 참여했다.

봉사자들은 거리 곳곳의 쓰레기들을 빗자루로 쓸어 담는가 하면, 배수로 안에 쌓인 오물과 쓰레기까지 깨끗하게 치웠다.

이 같은 모습에 행인들의 이목이 집중되는가 하면, TV5아크리 등 언론매체도 관심 있게 보도했다.

지방자치단체의 반응은 더욱 호의적이었다.

시청에서는 쓰레기봉투 등 필요한 물품을 지원하며, 지역 환경을 개선하기 위해 자발적으로 나서 시민의식을 고취시켜준 위러브유에 고마움을 표했다.

같은 날 산투안드레시에서도 110여 명이 참여한 가운데, 푼다상 ABC대학 일대 클린월드운동이 전개됐다.

산투안드레 시청에서도 장갑, 청소도구 등을 지원했으며, 부시장이 현장에 참여해 봉사자들을 격려했다.
