भारतीय गन्ना अनुसंधान संस्थान के प्रधान वैज्ञानिक बरसाती लाल कहते हैं मार्च का महीना गन्ने की बुवाई के लिए सबसे उपयुक्त माना जाता है। 15 फरवरी से 15 मार्च के बीच का समय गन्ना बुआई के लिए सबसे सही माना जाता है। इस समय़ बुवाई करने से फसल को अधिक समय मिल जाता है ऐसे में उत्पादन अधिक होता है। गन्ने की बुवाई करते समय इस बात का विशेष ध्यान रखें कि बीज में किसी प्रकार का रोग ना लगा हो इससे बीमारी की चपेट में आकर फसल बर्बाद हो सकती है। इससे उत्पादन भी घट सकता है।

उन्नत किस्में COLK 14201,COLK 15201, COLK 15466, COLK 14238,COLK 94184 और नई विकसित किस्म COLK 16202 इसको भी सरकार ने मान्यता दे दी है।

गन्ने की बुवाई Sugarcane Sowing Method

खेत में गड्ढे(गडढा विधि) से बुवाई करने से उत्पादन में लगभग 10 से 15% वृद्धि होती है। इस विधि में बीज सामान्य से थोड़े अधिक लगते है। ट्रेंच विधि से बुवाई करने से भी गन्ने का उत्पादन अच्छा होता है। इसमें कूंण की गहराई 20 से 30 सेमी होती है। कूंण की गहराई होने के कारण इसमे गन्ना अच्छे से उगता है और रोग लगने की संभावना कम रहती है। ट्रेंच विधि की सबसे खास बात यह है कि इसमें गन्ना गिरता नही है और मेहनत भी कम लगती है। \

गन्ने की एक एकड़ फसल में 150 किग्रा नाइट्रोजन, 60 किग्रा फास्फोरस और 60 किग्रा पोटाश डालनी चाहिए। बुवाई करते समय 75 किग्रा नाइट्रोजन, 60 किग्रा फास्फोरस और 60 किग्रा पोटाश डालनी चाहिए। बाकी बची हुई 75 किग्रा नाइट्रोजन एक महीने के अंतराल पर डालनी चाहिए।

Improved Varieties of Sugarcane:

Improved varieties include COLK 14201, COLK 15201, COLK 15466, COLK 14238, COLK 94184, and the newly developed variety COLK 16202, all of which have been approved by the government.

Sugarcane Planting Method:

Planting with furrows (furrow method) increases production by about 10 to 15%. This method requires slightly more seeds than normal. Planting with trenching also results in good sugarcane production. The depth of the trench is 20 to 30 cm. Due to the depth of the trench, sugarcane grows well and the likelihood of disease is reduced. The special thing about the trench method is that the sugarcane does not fall, and less effort is required.

Fertilizer for Sugarcane:

For every acre of sugarcane crop, 150 kg of nitrogen, 60 kg of phosphorus, and 60 kg of potassium should be applied. When planting, 75 kg of nitrogen, 60 kg of phosphorus, and 60 kg of potassium should be applied. The remaining 75 kg of nitrogen should be applied at monthly intervals.
