I stayed at Hotel New Akao, which I'd always wanted to stay at, and enjoyed Atami to the fullest.
Atami is close enough to be visited from Tokyo for a day trip.
There is a shopping street in front of the station, so you can enjoy just walking around and eating your way through it.

But Atami has so many wonderful spots, so I hope you'll enjoy your two-day, one-night stay.
