Cameos by raccoons, bobcat, and deer. On January 9th we had a wind and rain event and even more water was coming into the pond. The beaver added fresh mud to capture that runoff and raise the water level even more. The pond is above the height of the old beaver dam now. It’s not quite as high as when the beaver dam was freshly made by two beavers. There’s only one beaver now, but it is listening for trickling water and taking steps to stop it. Some water does run though the beaver dam, but it sort of seeps through silently.
