Man City striker Erling Haaland said on Friday that players are feeling the drain of playing too many games in a season and that it was impossible to be match sharp when having to play around 70 games a year.

Speaking from the US where City are on a pre-season tour and will face AC Milan on Saturday at the Yankee Stadium in New York, the Norwegian striker said that it was obvious that players struggled at the Euros because of tiredness.

"I think we all saw at the Euros of people in general how tired people were," he observed. "You could see the level, you could see even in people's faces how tired they were of football, if you can say it that way. And I think that's how it will be again this season."

Haaland also went on to talk about his dream of playing at a major international event with Norway and said that Man City don't really need to improve in any major area because football is about "small margins."

"I don't think we're missing anything. City's been close for the last three years. They've been so close in the Champions League and the one year that we won the Champions League, and then winning the Premier League four years in a row. So what City are missing is not a lot because what this club has been doing for the last six years has been amazing," Haaland explained.
