Margam Country Park Winter Light Trail
Following another sell-out year in 2021, Luminate Wales returns to Margam Country Park and Castle this Winter!
The spectacular, illuminated trail, full of wonder and intrigue, to delight and enthral your senses.
As darkness descends, join us on our enchanting journey, as we weave a captivating light trail through the stunning, historic gardens of Margam Country Park and Castle. Immerse yourself in our mesmerising mile long walk, with stunning lighting installations and fabulous interactive elements for the kids (and big kids!) to play with. All re-imagined to amaze you for 2022!

The trail is open nightly from Thursday 17th November 2022 until Monday 2nd January 2023 (closed Christmas Day). Tickets must be pre-booked, online in advance.

Set to ambient music, you will follow the trail as it meanders through the gardens and around the Castle exterior at Margam Country Park and Castle, with stunning lighting elements and light play guiding you along the way. The trail creates a sensory journey, beautiful and atmospheric for all ages, but with lots of child focused sections where they can play with the installations and really immerse themselves in the whole magical experience. The entire trail has been carefully re-designed for 2022, retaining some of last year's highlights, but re-imagined to include some amazing new highlights and to ensure that 2022 is bigger and better than ever before!

The trail is approximately one mile long and (depending on how quickly you walk through) will take circa 60-90 minutes to complete. Warm up by our fire pit, where you can toast marshmallows (purchase your marshmallows on site or bring your own marshmallows and skewers) and indulge in some of the hot food and snacks available to purchase from the Courtyard cafe and a carefully chosen selection of street food traders (approx 3/4's of the way around the walk, closes at approx 9pm), along with our drinks and mulled wine huts along the route.

The trail starts just off the car park, near the Orangery, where you will follow the route through the Gardens, ascending up to the Castle and the Castle Courtyard and Cafe, pass in front of the Castle and descend back down, finishing back at the Orangery. The trail is approx one mile long.
The trial starts right from the car park, there are no shops/food drink in this area, only toilets so please only arrive at the time of your booked slot.
Please note the trail closes at 10pm.
