A unique understanding of the Two-Stroke Carburettor usually fitted to a Weed Eater. Here I show you the workings of the 2 Stroke Carburetor that fits a 22cc 26cc 33cc 34cc 36cc 2 Stroke engine found on a Weed Eater/Weed Wacker, Multi Tool Hedge Trimmer, Brush cutter, Chainsaw, or small Petrol Gas Scooter Engines etc.

With it's signature Plastic Throttle Barrel, Single Adjuster Screw, it's Primer Bulb System and Double Fuel Pipes. When we look at it this way, it's quite daunting to think that we could service, diagnose faults and fix such a complicated looking 2-Stroke Carburetor. But, in fact, the only thing stopping anyone diagnosing and fixing a Carburetor like this is the fact that it's internal components and the way this carburettor functions is somewhat of a mystery. It does just seem quite complicated. But in this video I show you that it's not that complicated and I remove most, if not all, of those mysteries. So this video is beneficial for those who want to diagnose and repair their own car machines, but is ideal for the knowledge lovers.

Ok, so starting at the Primer Bulb side and we will look at a few key components here. First off is the primer bulbs retainer bracket. I this is removed by un screwing the 4 retainer screws. Now that the fuel primer bulb and the retainer have been removed, it exposes a special small pink rubber valve seated withing a black plastic metering diaphragm cover. This cover, and the following components now just lift off the main carburetor body. So, under this cover is the metering diaphragm, which sits on top of the metering diaphragm gasket. Then there is the metal metering system that houses the metering needle/valve, metering lever and metering spring. Lifting the metering system off reveals the fuel pump diaphragm and then it's fuel pump gasket.

So, in reverse order then. We have the fuel pump gasket, fuel pump, metal metering system, metering gasket, metering diaphragm, metering diaphragm cap with the rubber valve, followed finally by the primer bulb and it's retainer. So that's simply the sequence of the components, there's nothing more complicated in that sense.

When the components I mentioned have been removed it's quite difficult to put them back the wrong way round, providing one knows the correct sequence of the components. That is, the sequence mentioned above. That's because on each gasket, diaphragm, the metal metering system and the primer bulb retainer, there is 2 holes at one end, which are placed on 2 raised lugs on the body of the carb.

So there probably less components to the primer system than one may have originally thought. But now we know that, lets have a look at how this system functions. When the primer bulb is pressed, the air that was occupied inside the bulb is pushed out and down through the pink rubber valve underneath it.

I hope you find this video useful, and I really hope you enjoy it.

Many thanks indeed
