Hurricane Milton has rapidly intensified from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane in a matter of hours. As of now, it has sustained winds reaching 175 mph, making it the strongest Atlantic hurricane since Dorian in 2019.

Milton is expected to remain a Category 4 or 5 for several days before weakening to a Category 3 before impacting Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center.
