This video describes the parts, their characteristics, measurements and tests are carried out to verify the correct operation of the assembly of the A604/41TE transmission in Stratus, it also applies to vehicles from 1989 to 2011 such as: Voyager, Neon, Avenger, Journey, Town Country, Cirrus, Eclipse, etc.

The oil pump is disassembled to measure tolerances, on the internal rotor, external rotor and on the faces of the pump. Once inspected and cleaned, the bushing and seal are changed and sealed with Loctite 515 compound.

Specifications for torque (tightening), change of metal pressure rings are presented, details of the inspection of the oil pump body and rotors are given to determine that they are in good condition. The assembly of the pressure rings is shown.

It describes the operation of the transmission as the speeds are generated from the Low/Reverse, 2/4 brakes and the Overdrive, Underdrive and Reverse clutches.

The new parts are described and compared to the used ones, such as safety rings, friction discs, steel discs, and they are measured to have their specification, the diaphragms (elastic spring), and the piston and piston tray are compared. underdrive as well as applications where Overdrive, Underdrive and Reverse discs are dragged.

The operation of the lubrication system is described, the tolerances of the bushings are measured and in the case of the bushings, using tools such as vernier (caliper), telescopic, micrometer and alexometer, the damaged bushings are changed showing the extraction and replacement process. facility.

The assembly of the application drum is described, where the diaphragm (elastic spring) is mounted, compressing it with the special tool, the installation of the nitrile pressure rings or lip rings, the safety rings with a description of their characteristics, especially the conical ring and its position.

Friction and steel discs are compared, their measurement is carried out, as well as how it is possible to test steel discs and whether their reuse is feasible.

The locks to change are selected by comparing them with the locks used, measuring their thickness, by the tip code.

The application drum is assembled to measure the tolerances, once this is done it is disassembled for final assembly by moistening the friction discs in ATF, the position of the safety rings and pressure plates is described.

Tests with air (pneumatic tests) are carried out on the Overdrive, Underdrive and Reverse applications, to observe their correct application, it is suggested to carry out tests at the different stages of assembly, not only at the end of assembly.
