Struggling with depression?
Depression is more common in women with PCOS and affects a large proportion of our community.
As the study Anxiety, Depression, and Quality of Life in Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome* noted:
"The prevalence of anxiety disorders was 38.6% and that of depressive disorders was 25.7%."
They also found that anxiety is increased with scalp hair loss, infertility, and not having children. Acne increases the risk of depression. Excessive hair growth reduces psychological quality of life.
With today being RU OK? Day to bring awareness to mental illness I wanted to share some of Professor Irving Kirch's insightful research as it might be just what you need.
