Bottom Border Frosting http://www.sewcakemake.com/2010/06/i-...

This was made during the Texas snow storm week.
I used 1/4" seam allowance when sewing the whole thing together.
If you don't want to add stuffing, you can eliminate the extra 1/4" and just glue/sew the cardboard pieces together, then glue the felt on top. Or,
glue the cardboard pieces to the felt pieces, and ladder stitch them together 1/4" SA. I just prefer to sew everything so it gives a nicer finish.
The cardboard makes the cake flat/smoother with sturdy edges. If you want to make it more plushy/squishy, just don't add cardboard, but note that it will be a more pillowy shape.
My cake is 3.75" tall, I think I made it too tall lol next time I'd make it 3.25" tall.
