Michelin 2CT vs Pirelli Supercorsa V3 SP tyres at Knockhill

The 2CT is an old line of tyres with the rear being dual compound (possible Michelin's first?). They're relatively cheap, give reasonable mileage and are pretty good in the wet. At Knockhill I'd give them 2 - 3 laps to properly warm up though 2 laps is probably plenty on a warm day (~20 Celsius).

The Supercorsas were about 45% more expensive for a pair. After a day of nearly 200 miles on track the shoulders (especially on the rear) were pretty much down to the minimum wear markers. On the plus side, they gave awesome grip and feel resulting in me going nearly a second and a half faster per lap (a good lap of Knockhill for me takes a minute). They particularly shone for me down the back 'straight' (the long, fast left hander before the hairpin) where they gave rock solid grip with no squirming (like the 2CTs) and at the hairpin where I could take a more sweeping line with far more confidence. After my first day on these tyres, I'm sure I could get a good deal more out of them next time (and still not extract their full potential). The Supercorsas felt up to temperature after a lap.

Sizes fitted: 120/70 ZR17 (58W) - 190/50 ZR17 (73W)

NOTE: 18th May lap starts timing the lap at the start line at the top of the start/finish straight but stops it at finish line closer to the hairpin for some reason. I reckon this adds a couple of seconds to the time.
