Several years ago now Ford announced their very first all-electric pickup truck, shortly after the GMC Hummer EV EUT was announced, but the blue oval was the first to market with the F-150 Lightning. If you've got money to burn then this truck could be for you, sitting around the $125,000 CAD price point, this is the most expensive electric vehicle we've tested to date, and the most expensive pickup truck we've featured. That's not to say the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum doesn't come with some cool stuff though.

This truck is as fully loaded as one could hope for. Stand out features on this Lightning include the front power opening storage area, which can be opened by the key fob or the press of a button located on the hood for easy access. This truck has a suite of cameras around it as you'd expect from a top-end trim, along with the usual F-150 staples such as their step assist tail gate, keyless entry, standard safety technology, and more.

James goes over all the exterior design and features on this truck, then jumps inside to discuss the cabin feel and layout. Similar to an ICE F-150, the Lightning has familiar Ford design traits along with their large portrait style infotainment system we first saw on the Mustang Mach-E. Almost everything is controlled by the infotainment screen with few physical buttons. James discusses his thoughts on the interior of the Lightning before moving on to the driving segment.

We do some real-world daily driving testing with the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum to see how this truck stands up as both an electric vehicle and a pickup truck. Acceleration tests, handling tests, and more are thrown at it before James makes his verdict on this vehicle.
