Born in Australia and raised in Switzerland, I always wondered if you could go from Switzerland to the ocean on waterways.

In September 2016 I paddled the 540km from Locarno, Switzerland to Venice, Italy in my Big Kahuna folding kayak by Feathercraft. It was a tough but amazing trip on the Lago Maggiore, Ticino Inferiore, Po and the sea.

2 weeks of 6-7h a day paddling in rivers with low water level but amazing weather, starting with around 60kg of luggage, including tent, cooker and food for nearly two weeks.

An amazing trip where I learned a lot about myself and life itself just by being outside in the nature for two weeks.

Please check out the fantastic map I used as a base for the trip by Steve Peacewalker: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?...

Big Kahuna sea kayaks are not supposed for white water in general but up to WWIII they worked perfectly for me: http://feathercraft.com/kayaks/kahuna...

Ortlieb bags kept my stuff perfectly dry: https://www.ortlieb.com

Cheapest but lightest & best tent I ever owned: Navigator South Hiker by NZ supermarket http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz

Reliable & fast cooker: PRIMUS OmniLite Ti

I don't get paid by any of them, I just loved their stuff for this trip, so go check them out!
