Here's a quick and easy diy how to video on how to cut open an oil filter. this will work on any oil from Fram filters all the way to a Purolator filter!

Using my cheap harbor freight tin snips i was able to cut into the rolled edge and move along the ridge until all the way around.

After this your able to remove the Filter element and inspect it!

This filter came off of my 1990 Chevy Camaro with a small block chevy 350 and Vortec heads.
