Damn I really didn’t think I’d be back vidding this couple so soon again after my last video. Though to be fair when I posted that they hadn’t yet announced that this would be the last season so I honestly didn’t expect that these two would reunite so soon (if at all tbh). So as I wrote in my last video description, I had stopped caring about these two as much as I previously had, cause during seasons 4 and 5 I just felt their relationship was so mishandled. (Feel free to read my novel of feelings about why in my last vid of them haha I’m not gonna repeat it all here) So ya once America left I ended up not keeping up with the show anymore. I’m sorry I just wasn’t invested anymore, the writing of these two as a couple just really let me down and it made me kinda fall out of love with the show as a whole unfortunately.
But then when it was announced this would be the last season... damn they really didn’t give them much notice to wrap up I feel bad.. I was like ok I’ll catch up in time for the series finale. So even though I had been kinda let down and felt disconnected from these two as a couple, the finale FINALLY changed that and gave me my passion back for them!! I thought the finale as a whole, especially for how little time they had to probably think about it, was just a perfect way to close out the show and say goodbye to every character. AND THESE TWO! FINALLY they made me feel something again! I hadn’t felt that buzz for them since season three from before they became a couple. Their scenes in the finale reminded me of the old them, and I’m so glad the writers gave them this ending, one worthy of how epically they started out. Though part of me was also kinda annoyed, because THIS is what I had been missing for two whole seasons of them dating. Like when Amy put her hand on Jonahs back in the parking lot to comfort him, it was honestly a little foreign to me cause we’d hardly ever seen these two be affectionate or touchy like that (besides kisses) before!! Whyyy we couldn’t have had a touch here or there while they were together I’ll never understand. And how they finally expressed their feelings! We finally heard Jonah vocalize that he had only ever stayed at Cloud Nine because of Amy, and Amy affirming that Jonah makes her life better. Ugh it was perfect (though again my cynical side is like why couldn’t they have ever expressed their feelings or said cute couply things while they were together haha) As a vidder who likes to fill their videos with quotes, it’s hard with these two cause they don’t have very many meaningful ones. Literally their only “I love you” is impossible for me to edit in a video.. TRUST ME I’VE TRIED lmao I’ve tried to cut it so many ways. It just doesn’t work.. unless the feel of the video is an upbeat/fun one I guess. I wish they had had more than just that one I love you. Oh well we already know my frustrations about all this so I’ll stop lol sorry. At least the writers closed out the show by letting them reunite and having that moment of verbalizing their feelings finally! Also omg all the parallels to the pilot in the finale were great too. The glow stars on the ceiling of their sons’ room.. chef’s kiss. So ya even though my love for them wavered a bit there in the middle, they really brought it home in the end and reminded me of why they had at one point been one of my biggest otps. Glad these two got the happy ending they deserved.

I’m not even entirely sure this song works for these two 100%, except for the bridge which is perfect for them. I was also so drawn to the lyric “my sense of wonder is just a little tired” and thought it described Amy’s feelings of hopelessness and her stagnant way of life perfectly.. before Jonah came and showed her all of life’s moments of beauty... hopefully that comes across in the video :)
