This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you want a delicious and nutritious meal without any fuss 🤩.
🍲 Ingredients:
1 small bowl of dal (lentils) 🌽
1 bowl of basmati rice 🍚
1 handful of groundnuts 🌰
1 tomato 🍅
Spices (turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, asafoetida, garam masala) ❗️
Green Chili , Ginger , chopped Curry Leaves
1 spoon of ghee 🥖
Fresh coriander leaves 🌿
Jaggery or sugar 🍮
Lemon juice 🍋
Water 💧
👩🍳 Method:
1. Wash and soak the dal , rice , and groundnuts for 2 hours ⏰.
2. Drain the water and add dal to the cooker compartment, and rice to the second compartment.
3. Add water to submerge the dal and rice*, Add half tomato with *dal ,steam both the dal and rice in the cooker for 2 whistles.
4. Once dal and rice are steamed, crush the tomato and dal and add chopped tomato along with spices , Green Chili , Ginger , chopped Curry Leaves
5. Cook the dal for 10-12 minutes ⏰.
6. Add jaggery , lemon juice , garam masala , and fresh coriander leaves to the *dal*.
7. Adjust the consistency of the dal by adding water or letting it simmer.
8. Serve hot with steamed rice and garnish with fresh *coriander leaves*.
