Major Saleem Khan late is one of the famous personalities of Chamyati. He is known as one of the greatest opponents of Dogra Raj in Dhirkot along with Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan, Subdar Mohammad Saddique Khan of Chamyati. Another big political figure of Chamyati was Hafiz Mohammad Sayad Khan who was a major political figure of his time and was arrested by the Dogra Regime and taken to the Srinagar Jail. Sardar Maroof Akhtar Abbasi is one of the the famous personalities of Chamyatti.
