I quickly realized I need to get some kind of small landing net to keep with me while creek fishing with treble hook baits but despite that this turned into an epic creek fishing session with my brother in law. So far the Dobyns Sierra rod and Shimano Reel have preformed flawlessly and I am absolutely in love with this set up. I did break the tip off the rod but that was a fluke accident. somehow the lure got caught up on the tip of the rod mid cast and it was just enough force to break it. Luckily I can go down to my local dealer and swap it out for a new one so I won't have much down time. the catch and release footage will get better after I acquire a little landing net to help get these fish released without getting a treble hook to the finger.
