Welcome to the world of Grant Ships, the competitive grant funding game.

We've successfully completed our Grant Ships pilot round, distributing 81,000 ARB in grants to innovate Arbitrum aligned web3 gaming projects.

To accomplish this, we first recruited, trained and engaged 3 Ship Operators to scout, screen and award grants to stand-out projects. A total of 22 unique Arbitrum gaming projects created profiles on the Grant Ships app and 8 of them were selected by the Ship Operator teams to receive grants.

Across 2 funding rounds, these operator teams selected promising Arbitrum-aligned gaming projects and negotiated milestone outcomes. By the end of the 2nd round, 47 developer milestones had been completed. Grant Ships distinguishes itself from traditional grants programs with its unmatched transparency and continuous feedback loops. Every grant application, operator review and milestone submission was made public and documented onchain via the Grant Ships app.

After each funding round, Arbitrum token holders and community stakeholders weighed in, voting to assess each Operator's allocation performance. The Arbitrum DAO and community voting signal resulted in the elimination of 1 Ship Operator, and an approximately 60/40 funding split between the two remaining operators.

This feedback loop between performance, voter assessment and Operator program funding received created a healthy, competitive and highly accountable grants program.
