Around the world, school feeding programs are being implemented in low-income countries so that children get the nutritious meals they need to grow up healthy, but also to ensure that they have the energy and incentive to stay in school and complete primary education. Access to nutritious meals during the school day not only addresses immediate hunger, but also has far-reaching impacts on children’s physical and cognitive well-being, educational achievement, and long-term potential.

In Mozambique, Counterpart’s Our Bright Future program—implemented in a consortium with CESC, Associacao Progresso, and Creative Associates and funded by the US Department of Agriculture McGovern-Dole program—is changing lives for children in 244 primary schools across the Maputo province. Watch this video to learn more about how Our Bright Future is feeding, supporting, and nurturing the next generation of children in Mozambique.
