Three cousins ​​grow up as brothers in the midst of the violence of the East Los Angeles gangs. Over time, their lives follow very different paths: Paco works for the police anti-drug brigade, Miklo falls into the networks of the San Quentin gangs, and Cruz lets himself be dragged through the sordid world of drug addiction, but the meaning of honor and above all the ties of blood will always keep them together.
The story begins when Miklo decides to return to the old neighborhood with his mother, since he had previously quarreled with his white father. When he arrives where she is, he decides to leave. After seeing that the neighborhood is with brands of the rival band, Miklo wants to be part of the VL.
