Sparx just launched new models of their skate sharpener and it’s now more portable than ever. The sharpener head unit can sit atop one of two bases and they’ve designed a new carrying case to move the sharpener around. Dramatically lighter, if you were waiting for portability improvements, you will be thrilled with this news.

New $700 Skate Sharpener (0:21) - The new system debuts at a new price point! It’s not quite as affordable as $700 suggests, but it’s good to see the price come down a little on the entry model.
Company Direction, Innovation, Customer Discovery (2:00) - Launching a gen 2 hardware product is impressive for a relatively young startup. It looks like Sparx is doing all the right things to iterate on their design.
