The sculpture "Windows to the landscape" in Valkenburg ZH (The Netherlands). These empty forms of horses are as windows which show the landscape. The horses have been cut from 2,5 cm thick flat steel.
These metal horses were stolen on November 24, 2020. That couldn't have been easy, because the horses are taller than 3 meters. Fortunately, the 'thieves' returned the artwork undamaged to the municipality of Katwijk on January 27, 2021. The horses are now temporarily stored and will then be given a nice new place on the RijnlandRoute, a new road connection between Katwijk and Leiden, between the A44 and the A4.
