Today we're going to be building a simple continuous loop bow string also known as an endless loop or single strand bowstring. This three part video will cover setting up a simple string jig, measuring bow length, securing the string bundles, serving the string bundles together, serving the string loops together and finishing the main part of the string.

This first video covers setting up your jig, measuring your bow's length and securing the string bundles.

In this video I use 14 strands of B50 Dacron bowstring material (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003WHDN70/?.... This is the amount I like to use for bows from 30-50 pounds. Here's a small chart covering some basic string materials and the amount of strands you will need. You will want to use equal numbers of strands, so 12, 14, 16, 18, etc. This will keep the string balanced.

B50 Dacron : 30 or less = 12 strands, 30-50 = 14 strands, 50-80 = 16 strands, 80+ = 18 strands
Braided Dacron Fishing Line (50 lb test) : 30 or less = 10 strands, 30-50 = 12 strands, 50-80 = 14 strands, 80+ = 18 strands
