Prenuptial agreements ("prenups") are contracts, signed prior to marriage, that determine how assets and liabilities are to be divided in the event of divorce or death.

The "prenup conversation" is never an easy one for a young couple that is in love and planning a life together. That being said, it's often much easier than arguing over the division of assets and liabilities upon DIVORCE, when tensions and disagreements are at their worst.

This episode discusses prenups generally and is not state-specific. It does not constitute legal advice and is not a substitute for an attorney's advise or services. It is intended to provide you with an overview and some of the factors you may want to consider in deciding whether to negotiate a prenup.
