Götterdämmerung comes from Zeal & Ardor's self-titled third album, and it will make you headbang your brains into outer space.

Started by musician Manuel Gagneux in 2013, the band mixes black metal with African-American spirituals to ask a simple question: what if American slaves had adopted Satan instead of Christianity, the religion of their oppressors.

Yet Z&A don't stick to genre conventions or even their own formula. Over the course of three albums and an EP, they've employed soul, R&B, country, industrial, noise, ambient and extreme metal to their flavor. They're originality is a breath of fresh air to the musical landscape, and the fact they piss off gatekeepers and elitists alike is just an added bonus.
